Khorshid Dadbeh is an accomplished Iranian musician, specializing in the Tar, Tanbour, and Setar. Born in 1995 into an artistic family, she began her musical journey at an early age, learning to play the Setar alongside her father. She later pursued formal music education, first at the Conservatory of Tehran and then at the graduate level in Iran, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of traditional Persian music.
Khorshid’s professional career began at the age of sixteen when she joined the Shams Ensemble, marking the start of her extensive performance experience. Over the years, she has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned artists and musicians, participating in both national and international tours. Her growing reputation led to invitations to perform with the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (NBE), as well as prestigious appearances at major international festivals, including Le Guess Who? and Grauzone Festival.
In pursuit of further musical development, Khorshid completed her master’s degree at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where she expanded her artistic horizons.
In addition to her performance career, Khorshid co-founded the musical collective Jansouz with her brother, a project named in honor of their grandfather, a distinguished maestro in Iranian vocal music and cultural history. Since its inception in 2012, Jansouz has been the platform for Khorshid’s artistic expression, encompassing a range of projects that reflect her creative vision.
Khorshid also performs as part of a duo called Hamraaz, alongside a Duduk and Flute player, creating original compositions that blend Iranian and Armenian musical traditions. Currently, she continues to perform and compose music that fuses improvisation with the rich heritage of Iranian music while collaborating with international musicians to create cross-cultural exchanges.
